=NEED FOR SPEED
While the US and many developed nations are moving towards aggressive GHG reduction through technically advanced projects, there is relatively easy, low-hanging fruit rotting on the vine in the developing world. Eliminating black carbon, sequestering carbon through biochar, and phasing out old refrigerators and air conditioners are just a few of the ways the world can act now. NAELS will work with leading international environmental law professionals to address GHG emissions inside and outside of the United States. NAELS will identify the low-hanging fruit and engage young attorneys and environmental law students in finding solutions leading up to the Conference of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol in Copenhagen in November, 2009.
