A comedy event of global proportions!
ISLA VISTA THEATRE
  • Location: 960 Embarcadero Del Norte Isla Vista, CA 93117. Isla Vista, CA
  • Directions: From the 101, exit Los Carneros and head towards the ocean. Turn left on El Colegio at a traffic light, then right on Embarcadero Del Norte. The theatre is on the left hand side before a large bend in the road.
  • Description: Theatre holds over five hundred patrons with a close-knit community feel. Nearby dining options are Woodstock's Pizza.

Aiming to prove that laughter is the best medicine--even for what's ailing the planet--Earth to America! kicks off The Comedy Festival with a two-hour event featuring America's comedy superstars. The event will be a gut-busting night of comedy where some of the planet's funniest people--including Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Jack Black and more--will make light of the world's plight, all for a good cause. While the featured celebrities heat up the Vegas strip, the theme of Earth to America! focuses on the ultimate environmental issue, global warming.

Description: On Sunday, November 20, thousands of people watched Earth to America, a comedy special featuring Ben Stiller, Will Ferrel, Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Larry David, Cedric the Entertainer, Kenny Chesney, and many other entertainers. Around the country, campuses hosted Watch Parties to bring together university folks to laugh in the face of global warming.

The Environmental Law Society at Indiana-Bloomington hosted an event (see below) that included presentations from IU faculty and students, followed by a 2 hour watch party. The folks at the Virtual March to Stop Global Warming have asked NAELS to run a series of Watch Parties in 2006.
