Campus Climate Neutral (CCN) at UCSB

CAMPUS CLIMATE NEUTRAL GROUP PROJECT

Campus Climate Neutral is a student group project to: Design a plan for the UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) campus to reduce or offset its greenhouse gas emissions and achieve a net zero impact on the earth's climate. The plan will be designed to serve as a template for other universities in the UC system and the nation.

The plan will be informed by a multidisciplinary analysis of:

  • Current GHG emissions and sources;
  • Opportunities, options and technologies for emissions reductions and offsets (and projections for future opportunities, options, and technologies);
  • The economic opportunities and costs of the plan (and how they are expected to change over time);
  • Political and administrative processes and/or obstacles to implementation of the plan (and how they are exected to change over time).
