NAELS
Proposes First Annual Earth Day of Climate
Neutrality
The
National Association of Environmental Law
Societies (NAELS) recently proposed to use
Earth Day, 2006, as the first ever Day
of Climate Neutrality (DCN). NAELS
hopes the DCN can
serve as an annual event to measure and try
to eliminate or offset all campus greenhouse
gas emissions for the 24 period around Earth
Day, while bringing together teams of climate
champions, and providing them with access
to tools, resources, and opportunities. [DCN

CCN
Moves to Northern California: Danielle Grabiel Presents
at UC - Santa Cruz Convergence
Following
up on the success of the Santa Barbara Climate Summit,
Campus Climate Neutral moved up the coast to Santa
Cruz, as Danielle Grabiel presented CCN to various
groups from the California Students for Sustainability
Coalition (CSSC).
CSSC is running a green buildings initiative, a MOVE
UC sustainable tranportation initiative, and a clean
energy purchasing campaign, all of which should tie
in well to climate reduction efforts on the journey
to climate neutrality. Danielle also found students
interested in launching CCN campaigns at UCLA, UC-Berkeley,
and other California campuses!
