ARTICLE I

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Section 1. Purpose. The National Association of Environmental Law Societies (NAELS) is a non-partisan, nationally diverse organization of Environmental Law Societies whose purpose is to:

  1. Encourage the formation and improvement of Environmental Law Societies throughout the country, and to bring them together for mutual dialogue, cooperation, information transfer, and inspiration.
  2. Promote the awareness of environmental issues and environmental rights among the general public and the legal community and to increase involvement in such issues.
  3. Foster the study of environmental law through expanded curricula and materials, and to encourage responsibility and activism in the public interest by environmental law practitioners.
  4. Create, promote, and support personal connections between Environmental Law Students both during their time in law school and after graduation.
