ARTICLE I
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Section 1. Purpose. The National Association of Environmental
Law Societies (NAELS) is a non-partisan, nationally diverse organization
of Environmental Law Societies whose purpose is to:
- Encourage the formation and improvement of Environmental
Law Societies throughout the country, and to bring them together for
mutual dialogue, cooperation, information transfer, and inspiration.
- Promote the awareness of environmental issues and environmental
rights among the general public and the legal community and to increase
involvement in such issues.
- Foster the study of environmental law through expanded
curricula and materials, and to encourage responsibility and activism
in the public interest by environmental law practitioners.
- Create, promote, and support personal connections between
Environmental Law Students both during their time in law school and
after graduation.
